Propelled to ‘crisis’ speeds, O.M. feasts on ideas, digesting images and commentary, rendering obsolete even the most recent past in a relentless quest for the new — a beast created for and by an environment of perpetual renewal.
Fed by the imaginations of participants of the Mobile Laboratory, O.M. is the vessel which transports these ideas from one installment to the next, collecting a living archive which is re-curated at each installment by the aggregate of past participation. Fresh ideas are appended to the archive, stale ideas are excreted, fumed in the wake of the beast.
A tempermental beast armed with an archive, O.M.’s potency lies in his ability to awaken ideas from the past, even the recent past, already dismissed as irrelevant, to challenge the future.
Prompted by the discussion and images on the walls, visitors are asked to please feed the beast.
